Stamped concrete patios, stamped concrete driveways concrete slabs, steps and pools are exciting decorative concrete ideas, using color hardener in dry or liquid form. Dry (shake) colored hardener very often stain concrete surrounding decorative rock landscape. Precaution is needed to contain the spread of color, like a surgical (OR) keeping areas around the project protected, the added precautions are needed for dry shake coloring of stamped concrete. Adding color hardener into the Ready-mix truck at the plant or job site will greatly reduce the spread of unwanted staining. Working a color hardener in the concrete surface by broadcasting 2/3rds of the recommended amount over the area, then work the color by floating, bull float and mag float, fallowed by the remaining amount color hardener is a preferred concrete practice. Hello I'm James Belville, founder of Concrete Secrets.

I have used a variety of tools to finish concrete, most of which are your basic Bullfloat, Fresno, Jointer, Magnesium float, Edger, Steel trowel, and Broom. These are the tools my grandfather and father used to finish concrete. Now, with the innovation of walking tools, finishers can finish more concrete faster and more efficiently than ever before. I believe that more and more people will do there own concrete work, provided the information on the subject is available to them. Concrete is made up of various sizes of aggregate cement and water to produce a durable substance that cures by hydration. The strength of concrete is determined by the amount cement added to the concrete mixture (the more cement, the stronger the mixture) and by the amount of water added to the concrete mix (the less water the stronger the mix). Some factors that effect hydration are the angle of direct sunlight, wind, temperature, humidity, shade, soil moisture content, slab thickness and mix design.
