About this user
Happily married to and still in love with the girl of my dreams, the lovely Delena.
God blessed us with 3 wonderful children:
Jamie, Mark and Amy.
We are further blessed by 6 grandchildren:
Dalton & Heidi, Ashley & Joshua and Noah & Hope. The Ewing Family is descended from Scottish emigrant George Ewing who left Edinburgh and sailed across the Atlantic for the (then) British Colony of North Carolina. In 1750 George settled near present day Belmont NC and was one of the earliest pioneer settlers west of the Catawba River. Several of our homes today stand on ancestral land that has been in the Ewing Family continuously since those early Colonial pioneer days. The Ewing family was well established when the American Revolution for Independence broke out. George's first born American son Hugh, fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain along side Major William Chronicle as a member of the locally organized militia known as the South Fork Boys. Along with the other militia men known as the Over The Mountain Men, they handed the British Loyalist forces a crushing defeat that also claimed the life of their leader, Major Patrick Ferguson. The battle took place on October 7th, 1780. Thomas Jefferson later referred to the Battle Kings Mountain as the turn of the tide of success.
We are incredibly blessed with a rich family history that is well documented in early American records and history books.
The Ewing Family (Ewen, Ewan, MacEwen, McEwen) is an ancient family that is traceable as far back as written records exist. Our family crest is that of an oak tree springing into leaf again, with the motto Reviresco over it. Reviresco means to grow green again, to grow strong or young again. It is an accurate description of our family then and now.
