About this user
My names Brian Thomas and I was the founding chair of Robocup Junior. Robocup Junior started off in a couple of schools in Victoria and is now in thirty countries around the world with ten thousand students competing each year. The Robotics that we do in Bellarine Secondary College starts in year 8 and goes on as an elective right through to year 12. Students study different aspects of engineering in the classroom, and then they move on to developing robots for the Robocup Junior competition. So the students go from the classroom on to the Geelong Regional event, and then they compete in the state event, and then with a bit of luck if theyre good enough they can go on to the national event. Weve even had the chance where a few students have gone overseas to compete.
