White boy making beats in the NW 'burbs of Chi-Town. I love making beats, but I tend to cycle through my hobbies for a couple of months at a time, so I may be absent for a while every so often. I also enjoy reading and gaming as well as graphic and web design, which is what I do for a living. I'm a little old school, have zero idea how MIDI works, so I usually compose my own music in loops using a combination of the MPC1000, Triton LE, Roland XP-80, Kaossilator and MicroKorg, save as .wav files and bring them into Reaper to mix.

I LOVE music. The day I lose my hearing is the day you find me hanging from a rope. I was raised on country and rock - Juice Newton's "Queen of Hearts", Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" were my first favorite songs when I was a toddler. I'm not so closed minded that I will listen to one genre and stick with that - if a song is good, it's good, no matter if Def Leppard, Britney Spears, Mozart or Tiny Tim did it. I try to stay original with my beats and compose them from scratch, but if I do sample, you'll hear a wide variety of music, as I don't simply stick with soul samples. I also don't use VST's or any of that stuff, no software-based instruments. To me they don't sound authentic.

My message to those who love music is this: Listen to whatever you like. If you like Method Man and Justin Bieber (sp?) listen to it and support both equally. Never give a fuck what others say is "gay" or "wack". Let them be sheep and let others decide what they like. Be YOU. Like what YOU like, and never be ashamed. Music is a beautiful thing, and if you leave out an artist or genre because it's not "hip" or "cool", you're playing yourself and only yourself. Peace.
