It's been a long, strange year for the Scene.

They've come from being a bar band playing to 3 or 4 people in May of 2005, to playing to crowds of thousands at two major music festivals in 2006 - North by Northeast in Toronto and The Festival of Lights in Peterborough.

"I think the reason we've done well over the past year has to do with us having really good songs - more substance over style. I mean, sexy pop stars with big tits can make people notice you, and make you look good in a video, but people will turn you off really quick if your songs are garbage. Our songs aren't garbage, so now all I need is big boobs, and we're on our way."- Matt Crowley

Matt Crowley (singer/guitarist/songwriter) and Mark Chamberlain (drums) make up the nucleus of The Scene, and with the recent addition of Brian McCarthy on bass, The Scene is beginning to take its place beside other up and coming rock acts in Canada, as one of the best new groups around.

Their influences range from mid-90's British rock like Oasis, Shed Seven, The Verve and The Stone Roses, to earlier stuff like The Beatles and The Who. Their motto is that rock doesn't have to be distorted guitars and screaming ("Nickel-rock" as it has been dubbed), but as long as it has a strong melody that you can sing along to, people will come.

With the recording of their first CD, The Scene are hoping to begin building on their early success, and hopefully reach a wider audience.
