Shadows are my friends And the light hates my face It hides behind the clouds In its institute of grace And our children warm their beds With dreams of growing old But deception has run rampant And their futures have been mistold
Just put me in the car And drive so far Until I'm free again And whisper in my ear That all these years I've been dreaming Then you kiss me goodnight And it'll be all right It'll be all right It'll be all right It'll be all that I have ever asked of you
Darkness thinks I'm pretty And the rain covets my soul But the women think I'm ugly They care not for hearts of gold And freedom teaches nothing If only to create Lately innocence is jaded Only preachers hate
Just put me in the car And drive so far Until I'm free again And whisper in my ear That all these years I've been dreaming Then you kiss me goodnight And it'll be all right It'll be all right It'll be all right It'll be all that I have ever asked of you
Just put me in the car And drive so far Until I'm free again
Then you kiss me goodnight And it'll be all right It'll be all right It'll be all right It'll be all that I ever asked of you

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikiped...
The 1971 San Fernando earthquake (also known as Sylmar earthquake) struck the San Fernando Valley near Sylmar at 6:00:55 a.m. PST on February 9, 1971, with a magnitude of 6.6.
There are various names for this earthquake. Seismologists call it the San Fernando earthquake. USGS 'Sylmar Quake' or 'Sylmar earthquake' is the name initially given to the event by local media outlets, because the worst damage was to the Olive View Medical Center, located in Sylmar. Local veterans of 'the Sylmar Quake' commonly refer to this seismic event as the 'February Ninth' quake.
Contains the famous line about the earth shaking "like an angry parent shakes his screaming child!"

I wrote this song after doing a Vision Quest, on top of Sage Peak. A 10,000 foot high granite peak, on the northern edge of Yellowstone Park. It was a very physically demanding, sometimes painful, but an incredible rewarding experience. It changed my life and sprititual philosophies. So many thanks to my 'Horse & trusted friend, 'Mescalito', the best Mountain Horse ever, (R.I..P) And to 'Tipi' Tom Heintz for his savvy, direction, ability and motivation, and most of all, his "Medicine Lake Guide Service", that offers truely magical "Wild Back Country" experiences. & to 'Burton - Pretty - Top', my ' Crow Medicine Man Brother', who interpreted my venture & meanings. I advise everyone to experience Tom Heintz', 'Lap of Mother Nature' in such a way. There would be no reason for 'politicians or preachers' Last but not least, thanks to Michael Keaton & Chip Walter for their inspiration of witness, while sharing the Yellowstone Wildlands together. They both, are a walking testimony, that the 'Wildland Spirit' is still alive and well. The "Coyote Angel Band" for recording this with me, and bringing it to life, so I could share it... i.e. Bart Koehler, Michael Blessing and Craig Hall. Aho....................

Many of you may know this wonderful Native Hawaiian song from the Disney movie "Lilo and Stitch". Although used in the film, this IS a TRADITIONAL Hawaiian song.
