Bazel Baez is a musician from New Bedford, Massachusetts, who has been playing and composing music for many years. On a late October night in 2005, Bazel was getting a ride home from a close friend when the car they were driving was mistakenly ambushed. The two had been followed and after pulling into the driveway of a friend they were shot at repeatedly with an AR-15 assault rifle and a "sawed off" shotgun. Subsequently, Bazel lost his left eye to a shotgun blast and was also hit by a bullet in the back, missing his spine only by inches. After this great misfortune, he decided to further pursue his career as a musician by working towards a degree at Berklee College of Music where he is currently studying Songwriting.
