Thrash/Heavy metal band BattleX was founded in June 2007 by Filip Gornik, Blaž Ekart and Blaž Varžič. The band consisted of two guitars and a bass, and was in desperate need of a drummer. By the end of 2007, Simeon Garkov joined the band. We started with covers of Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Nirvana. In the begining of 2008, the band gained a vocalist - Matej Slavinec. During that time, we wrote some new material, and after a year or so of playing, got the idea of recording an EP.
While we were preparing for the recording sessions, Blaž Ekart and Blaž Varžič left the band due to personal reasons. We were eager to continue and were searching for two new members. Soon after Varžič's departure, a good friend of the band, Blaž Lorenčič joined the lineup - he liked the music and fitted in the band perfectly. After a couple of auditions, we decided to hire Jaka Črešnar, whom Filip met through a friend. In this lineup, we've recorded an EP entitled The Point of no Return in early 2010.
Various performances followed, we participated in ŠOUROCK, and we made it to the finals. However after numerous gigs we decided that Matej didn't quite fit the bill as vocalist, so he left the band. Finding a singer was hell, and after some time, Jackie decided he should do the yelling. As a four piece, we continue working on new songs, and we appear whenever we can to kick some ass, thrash style!
