About Me:
 
Mark Lauer is a bassoonist from Jefferson City, Missouri. He is a graduate from Jefferson City High school (Class of 2011) and the JCHS Jay Band program. He served as principal bassoonist of the JCHS Wind ensemble, oboist in the JCHS Concert band, baritone saxophone in the JCHS Top Jazz band, lead alto saxophone in the JCHS Second Jazz Band and marched in the JCHS Marching Jay Band. Mark Served Three Years as second bassoon in the Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra and has played in several pit orchestras for local theater presentations with JCHS and The little theater of Jefferson City on bassoon and saxophone; playing the music in musicals such as "George M" , "The Music Man", "Oklahoma" and "Suessical the musical". Mark Served as President of the JCHS chapter of the Tri-m Music Honor society and historian for the JCHS Jay Band program. He is a four time CDMMEA All district honor band member as Principal bassoon and three times in the all district honor jazz band as first chair baritone saxophone also placing second chair alto saxophone one year in the same band. He also was first chair in the SIUe Bi-State honor band. Mark won fourth chair in the 2010 Missouri All state band and 1st Chair in the 2011 Missouri All state band. Mark Has performed in the 2010 MENC National Honor band at the JFK Performing arts center in Washington D.C. and in the 2011 American High School Honor Performance Series Honor Band at Carnegie Hall in New York City. He is the 2011 recipient of the John Phillip Sousa Award from JCHS and Named Outstanding instrumental music student from the class of 2011. He has also received the JCHS seal of excellence in Band and Outstanding Senior band Musician. Starting in August 2011 he will attend The University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory of Music Majoring in Music Education. He plans on becoming a professional Musician and music educator.

A lot of the courses are dual credit for each major, so obtaining a performance degree wouldn't be hard for you because of how super talented you are! =D
