1,497 views 6 months ago
Brad, a young, healthy triathlete and marathon runner was diagnosed with a grade II brain tumor. A Washington University neurosurgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital performed a craniotomy to remove Brad's brain tumor using intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (IMRI). After recovering from brain tumor surgery, Brad is back to doing the things he loves - spending time with his family and training for his next race. For more information about brain tumor treatment, brain tumor surgery or intraoperative MRI, visit http://www.barnesjewish.org....

Here's what Brad had to say about his brain tumor treatment and surgery:

I called it the alien.

To me, that's what it was - this tumor in my head that threatened to take everything away. But, the worst news of my life was followed by confidence and hope, knowing a skilled team and the right technology could change everything.

I thought I knew about striving, of always improving, but Barnes-Jewish Hospital did the hard work and moved the science forward for someone like me.

And now I'm here, lap by lap, making a comeback - proving how skilled minds can save another.
