About Me:

Barbara Hillary (born June 12, 1931) is the first African-American woman on record to reach the North Pole, which she did at the age of 75 on April 23, 2007. She reached the South Pole on January 31, 2011, thus making her the first African-American woman on record to reach both Poles.

After retiring as a nurse, Hillary became fascinated with Arctic travel. She found new challenges learning snowmobiling and dog sledding in the United States and Canada. During this time she became aware that no African-American woman had set the record for reaching the North Pole. Hillary reached the North Pole after raising the $40,000 transportation cost herself, acquiring all the necessary Polar equipment, learning to ski and training to pull her own supply sled.

Hillary is a graduate of the New School University and earned Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Professional Studies Degrees. As a Gerontology major, Ms. Hillary utilized her education to tailor staff development in nursing homes and related facilities to meet the current expectations of the aging population. Her approach included a strong emphasis concerning sensitizing the staff to their own aging process, as deliverers of human services to the elderly.

Hillary has maintained an active role as an advocate for community improvement and was the founder of the Arverne Action Association, Inc. One of her primary goals was to improve the quality of life in Arverne, New York and the Rockaway Peninsula community.

She was the founder and Editor-in Chief of The Peninsula magazine. The Peninsula was the first multiracial magazine published by an African-American woman in Queens County, New York City. The magazine was a non-profit community-focused publication.
Occupation:
Arctic Adventurer

Hello, Barbara. It is good to see you too. No I do not plan on uploading any of my old videos to YouTube. I am leaving the past behind and trying to better my life for the future. I have left the TFL movement and will work to expose Bill to everyone soon.

If I do upload them, they will be on my MrChismah channel. Please check MrChismah and DwayneHoLLowayLive to see all of the new videos and discussions about today's problems in society and how we can fix them. Talk to you soon.
