Fallout 3 was the first I've played. It isn't the nightmare everyone wants you to believe it was, just... mediocre. Sometimes awesome(exploring), sometimes horrible(dialogues) equals mediocre.

Why people say that New Reno wasn't Falloutish? It fits seamlessly into Core Region; not every town has to be destroyed as it would take millions of bombs, and yet it completely descended into darkness of that post-apocalyptic world.
