The Prova de Fogo band was created in late 2007 and is initially composed only of three elements: Hugo Mendes (guitar and vocals), Luis Santos (bass) and Luis Reis (drums).
The need for a fourth element came later, to test some more complicated issues. But finding a guitarist responsible and willing to embrace the project was not easy! And only after some experience with success, the César (guitar) joined the band.
Formed the band with a debut at the door, missing the name. And so, after some suggestions, we have decided to band link, and it was this name that debuted in the bar Dixxie land in Torres Novas.
For personal reasons, the Luis Santos left the band and was replaced by current bassist, the Nuno Tomé, which had played some songs with us on our debut. Soon after the entrance of Tomé, we make some changes in the band from which the name. We needed a name with impact, and above all, it had to do with us and our music. And after several suggestions rejected, someone spoke in a trial fire proof "Prova de Fogof", but in a completely different context. But the expression was in the ear, and does not move further in the matter. Name of band: PROVA DE FOGO.
After many mishaps, so much work, missing the final Test of fire, which was surpassed in CCV Bar in Torres Novas, 18 October 2008.

A banda Prova de Fogo foi criada no final de 2007, sendo inicialmente composta apenas por três elementos: Hugo Mendes (guitarra e voz), Luís Santos (baixo) e Luís Reis (bateria).
A necessidade de um quarto elemento surgiu mais tarde, ao ensaiar alguns temas mais complicados. Mas, encontrar um guitarrista responsável e com vontade de abraçar o projecto não foi nada fácil! E só depois de algumas experiências sem sucesso, o César (guitarra) entrou para a banda.
Formada a banda, com a estreia à porta, faltava o nome. E assim, depois de algumas sugestões, optámos por Banda Link, e foi com este nome que nos estreámos no bar Dixxie land,em Torres Novas.
Por motivos pessoais, o Luís Santos saiu da banda e foi substituído pelo actual baixista, o Nuno Tomé, que já tinha tocado alguns temas connosco na nossa estreia. Logo após a entrada do Tomé, resolvemos fazer algumas modificações na banda, de entre as quais o nome. Precisávamos de um nome com impacto, e sobretudo, que tivesse a ver connosco e com a nossa música. E depois de várias sugestões rejeitadas, num ensaio alguém falou em prova de fogo, mas num contexto completamente diferente. Só que a expressão ficou no ouvido, e não se mexeu mais no assunto. Nome da banda: Prova de Fogo.
Depois de tantos percalços, de tanto trabalho, faltava a derradeira Prova de fogo, que foi superada no CCV Bar em Torres Novas, a 18 de Outubro de 2008.
