actually, I wouldn't say Zepplin was metal at all. They are more Rock and Roll than anything else. Just sayin

It isn't a joke really. "Home on loan" shows how he was owned by the business. He had to "hurry up make the plane" meaning he was pressured by the business to do what they said. So on loan simply means they let him do what he wanted to do only briefly.
