Little House on the Prairie is an American TV show produced from 1974 to 1983. (9 seasons and 3 TV movies)
Laura Ingalls Wilder (played by Melissa Gilbert) really existed in the 1870s. It was an author of autobiographical novels, including Michael Landon was inspired to carry of the show, so the characters really existed.

Little House on the Prairie. It is with great sadness that I watch Michael Landon in LHOTP & Highway to Heaven. I miss him deeply. I feel so bad for him, it's as if I had a wound that will never heal. My only regret is in never having the honor of meeting him.
