This record is Country Americana at it's finest. Covering topics of young love, the challenges of life, and war, Billy Ray knows how to relate to everyday Americans. The second track "We Fought Hard" is a simple, heart-felt song sure to be a favorite. The following track "Keep The Light On" makes promises of returning home to family and friends. A soldier's return from war asking his lover to "keep the light on" and "call up the boys". The duet "Stripes and Stars" featuring Amy Grant well depicts the life of a soldier and his wife. Cyrus sings the words of a soldier and Grant complements him well as the wife dealing the raising their family while he's fighting for the Country. Together they realize that the flag is "more than just stripes and stars". The title track is sure to get listeners on their feet. Full of power, energy and patriotism, Cyrus along with vivacious background vocals take this song beyond any measurable scale. Come the Fourth of July, this will be the song blasting out of car speakers. The final cut featuring Craig Morgan, Jamey Johnson and Darryl Worley truly completes the album. A touching tune that will leave you with goose bumps and an deep appreciation for those fighting for our Country.

Overall, Cyrus has a nice mix of ballads and empowering, patriotic songs. While it would be easy to write, cheesy nostalgic songs about America, Billy Ray shows his true talent not only as a writer but also as a singer, capturing the true emotion in every song. I'm positive that soldiers and their families will gladly embrace this album. Cyrus captures the essence of freedom and America in this album certainly making it one to purchase.
