I will stick to using gas as a solvent and a wire brush. Plugs arent designed for sustained high temps. Yes I know they get hot when they fire but they also designed for rapid cooling. Using a hot constant flame can weaken the metel and cause the ceramic to break.

I got the same saw and it kicks ass but i do recommend replacing the shitty spur sprocket with a rim sprocket. I got one thats for a Stihl MS360 pro saw. 1st Gen Trooper Valve Noise
Just got my 1991 Trooper back from the shop. Had an exhaust valve go out. Now it has a ticking noise. Valve noise.

Theres nothing wrong with the cylinder. The valves are adjustable and there out of adjustment. take the valve cover off and ya can adjust them. if you adjust them and they wont shut up then its time to replace them.

I just baught this saw two months ago and its a awesome saw. My saw is not even broken in yet, have only gone through about 3 tank fulls and already can feel it getting more power.
