As I peruse the totality of the comments made under this latest entry by the lovely Alicia keys and talented Jay- Z, I've noticed an "overtone" of racist propoganda and accusation that seems to run the gamut between the exclusive nature and overiding pride being extolled in the song to the exclusionary practices of "caste." It is no doubt, a microcosim of the greater ideology of the nation.
I don't feel that we are all racist, but racism is obviously an intricate component to the thought processes of all whom attempt to postulate. What marvels me is, to the extent that we are the carriers of the torch that will usher in a new future, we seem sadly mired in the trivialities and fearmongering of a time long gone by.
While everyone is entitled to his or her opinion; that is what makes this country great, we however, have to be committed to change in ideology towards sentiments involving superiority and inferiority as it pertains to racial viewpoint if we truly intend to progress as "a race." If you disagree please broaden the spectrum of your social and emotional horizons while adhering to some of the lessons learned in past historic events. We are not animals and can learn to celebrate our differences. I am sure we will find stark similarities in what we differ and stark differences, as well, in our similarities. Respect is the key.
