With me its basically the same as you've described...it's all real good, there are some difficulties here and there, some bad moments, but all in all its all great! :) I've been also working on my educational(in my case its not school, its rather self-education, tutorials and such), so I hope relatively soon I'll be able to use my 3D skills to kick-start my career and make a living of it someday. I hope you will be the same!!
