Born and raised at the 16oo block of Bond and Federal Street in East Baltimore, Akio has been filming since the age of 16 when he first was able to get his hands on a camera. He always had much admiration for his home town, and wanted to show the world what Baltimore has to offer. Akio had such a passion for film and would be ready to shoot at any given moment. He was known to schoolmates at his Alma Mater Northern High School as the guy to always "have a camera in his back pocket" to capture any interesting event.

Akio had a plan to polish up skills and decided to make a visit to the West Coast in the Fall of 2004. There he went on to meet many stars, and made a film acting debut with Grammy winning rapper 50 Cent in his movie "Home of the Brave". In late 2006 Akio began to educate himself in film by fooling around with different film programs. He made his first DVD in the beginning of 2007, titled "Real Recognize Real Entertainment Volume 1". This DVD featured other popular rap artists such as: Bone Thugs and Harmony, DMX, Tech N9ne, and Twista. He returned to Baltimore in June 2007 where he would appear on the 5th Season of HBO's hit series The Wire. He saw success, but he also saw despair. Akio realized that he had a mission to complete in his hometown. He wanted to take his filming to another level.

Akio has recently made documentaries on Baltimore's powerful mediation organization Operation Safe Streets, and has also contributed videography to East Baltimore's community organization The Montford Family's and their annual "Stop the Violence Peace Day" block party. He dedicates his time to community activism, non-profit orgs and promotes Baltimore's growing talent. Akio captures the essence of Baltimoreans and their struggles. He destines to show the world Baltimore through the eyes of its real people with real stories. He has influenced many, in especially the youth, to see things in broader perspectives. Now Akio not only makes videos, but he also designs clothing which was his first discovered talent! He has marketed his clothing in Baltimore and has popular demand in other states.
