God Exists
God, by definition, is that being which is absolutely perfect. It is more perfect to exist rather than not to exist. Therefore, to conceive of God, it is necessary to conceive of Him as existing because if you think of God as not existing, it becomes self-canceling. Therefore, to say that God does not exist, it is a contradiction. Therefore, the sentence, "God exists" is necessarily true.
It is possible to conceive of a being than which nothing greater can be conceived. If that being than which nothing greater can be conceived exists only in the mind or understanding, then, it is not the greatest being that can be conceived because it is alway possible to conceive of a greater being, if it exists only in the mind. So, one that exists not only in the mind, but outside the mind, as well, is a being we are talking about. Therefore, the possibility of conceiving of a being than which nothing greater can be conceived entails the logical necessity of the real existence of that type of being. The being, than which nothing greater can be conceived is the being we call God.
If God does not exist, then His existence is logically impossible because God, by definition, cannot come into existence, or be caused to come into existence. If God exists, then His existence is logically necessary because God cannot have come into existence for the reasons stated in the previous premise. Or God cannot cease to exist because if God ceased to exist, He would be limited, and God, by definition, is unlimited. Either the existence of God is logically necessary or logically impossible. If the existence of God is logically impossible, then the concept of God is self-contradicting. The concept of God is not self-contradicting. Therefore, the existence of God is logically necessary. Therefore, God exists.
