Shawn Thomas, better known by his stage name C-Bo (abbr. for Cowboy) is an African-American rapper. He was born and raised in the Garden Block of Sacramento, California. He has sold over 3.5 million albums independently since 1993.
Beginning with his 1993 debut, Gas Chamber, C-BO made it clear that he planned on surprising rap listeners with his controversial lyrics, which would eventually land him in jail. Of course, the hardcore Californian's steady rise towards continued popularity increased year by year, with an album being released nearly every year following his jaw-dropping debut. With album titles such as the Autopsy and Tales From the Crypt, C-BO quickly attained a cult following, similar to the small legions of listeners swarming perverse rappers such as Esham, Brotha Lynch Hung, and Three Six Mafia. Yet as C-BO began to mature as an artist, he moved away from exploitative themes, though he still ranked among the West Coast's most extreme hardcore rappers. By the time his 1998 album, Till My Casket Drops, the Cali rapper found himself debuting at number 41 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart, an amazing feat for such an underground rapper. In 2000 -- after oddly being jailed in 1998 for his lyrical content -- he released Enemy of the State on Warlock, continuing his climb to recognition.

Geto Boys (intentionally misspelled, although originally spelled Ghetto Boys, its originally formed name) is a hip-hop group from Houston, Texas, consisting of Scarface, Willie D and Bushwick Bill. The original Ghetto Boys consisted of the following members: Prince Jonny C, Sire Jukebox; DJ Reddy Red; and Little Billy, the dancer who later came to be known as Bushwick Bill. The group released a critically acclaimed album titled Making Trouble that contained songs such as "Making Trouble", "Ghetto Boys Will Rock You", "Balls and My Word", and "Assassins and Snitches".

Mobb Deep is an American hip hop duo that consists of Havoc and Prodigy. The group is perhaps best known for their dark, hardcore delivery as shown on the single "Shook Ones Pt. II." Although the group has not seen as much commercial success as some of their peers, the majority of its albums have met with critical acclaim, in particular The Infamous, which is considered an East Coast classic.
Prodigy, Havoc, Killa Black (Havoc's older brother), Big Noyd, The Twins (Gambino and Scarface), Ty Nitty, Godfather Pt. III, Ty Maxx, Gotti, Money No, Karate Joe, Stovo, and Littles all grew up together.
Havoc & Prodigy started rhyming in the late 1980s when the duo met at the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Havoc took the role of producer and secondary MC, while Prodigy assumed the position of primary M.C. Originally dubbing themselves the Poetical Profits, the duo later changed its name to Mobb Deep in order to "reflect their reputation on the streets." In the groups early career, it released the single "Cop Hell." While members of the clique were only 17, the released its debut album Juvenile Hell, which was led by the single "Peer Pressure." The album sold very poorly and was met with harsh reviews that wrote the duo off as just another hardcore group with little to distinguish them from the rest of the hip-hop world—especially with the group Illegal—despite production by DJ Premier and Large Professor. However, a few songs from Juvenile Hell gained a little recognition, such as "Hit It from the Back," "Locked in Spofford," and "Me and My Crew." Also in 1993, Havoc had a guest appearance in the critically acclaimed Black Moon album Enta Da Stage, on a song called "U Da Man."

Luniz is a platinum-selling rap duo from Oakland, California formed by rappers Yukmouth and Numskull. They released an internationally successful hit in 1995 entitled "I Got 5 on It", two versions of which appear on their album Operation Stackola. A third version of the song, featuring Oakland rappers Dru Down, Shock G, Richie Rich, E-40, and Spice 1 and often found on the Internet as the Bay Area Ballas Remix, has also garnered radio play. Luniz were going to be featured on Tupac Shakur's One Nation project. Due to Shakur's death the album was never released.
