I'd quite liked to have seen this movie but as I read that the elephant in the movie was abused by her trainers (not the film-makers) in order to act in this and other movies (such as zookeeper) I will not be watching.

@fishysinksmum they beat the dog savagely with planks of wood. I don't advise watching it as I am shaking after watching.

Hope these bastards get identified and get a taste of their own medicine. No punishment would be hard enough for what they did.

@minkurules sorry, I thought some of the scenes were played by actors in the film and the chimp in the red jumper on the film cover was a captive chimp 'actor' ! Oops.

Rick got quite defensive when the presenter asked him about beating the chimps which made me wonder.

@jessamess if you watch the second part of this video and read the details about it it gives more info. The chimps weren't fully developed, they were about the same maturity as the kids when you bear in mind that chimps mature a bit earlier than humans.

@christianTZM the details of the video say that the child was instructed to get the treat "any way they can" and the instructor left the room while they completed the puzzle and they still didn't go straight for the treat.

I wonder if so many people on these boards claim to hate monkeys because it makes them feel inferior to think we humans are so closely related to them?

I eat meat but just wanted to add that humans are actually herbivores, if we ate meat in it's natural state (ie:raw) we wouldn't be able to process it and would eventually die. Human teeth and jaws aren't built like other meat eaters.

Look up just about any monkey abuse video on you tube and he is there commenting and contradicting himself, making up fantasy stories about how he has tortured monkeys then in the next breath saying he is a vegan who has been in prison for defending animal rights...

You tube really need to pass on the details of some of the people who have written comments on this page to a psychiatrist.

Fantasising about abusing and torturing living things is very disturbing behaviour and I sincerely hope that these people don't have pets or kids.

Personally I couldnt eat a dog but I don't see why people are so angry about it. The dogs are treated no worse than the pigs we farm and eat in western countries and pigs are just as (if not more) intelligent than dogs.
