About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa
In operation since 1975, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa serves children facing adversity in Linn, Benton and Jones counties by providing caring adult mentors. In 2011, the agency served a total of 716 children through two key programs: Community Based and School Based (Lunch Buddies). Agency programs focus on long term, one-to-one mentoring relationships between an adult (Big) and a child (Little) to develop the child's personal assets.
