just finished getting one of these motors running after sitting for 10 years... i personally do not like these motors at all a pain in the ass and a bad design in my opinion... but if it is something that someone likes then that is there choice and more power to them

@nathanial41 its not a cat engine and trans caterpillar stopped making on road engines its an international built truck, with a mann diesel engine from europe if i remember the name correctly but not sure about the trans

a lot of the cat loaders only have the one cylinder for the bucket tilt where i work they have a 966e,f,d and g model and all of them have a single tilt cylinder

@thedieselman78 I completely agree with you even though my cummins is an automatic. Hopin soon she will have a five speed in her. Its only money right haha

we got two of them where i work and i stop and stare everytime it gets up to RPM thing amazes me

i just helped rebuild a rear section on one of these except we use ours to load logs at the local mill was a pain at times but a badass experience

that is one of my dream trucks got my cummins no got to get a powerstroke to go with it only thing to make this truck better would be a five speed but nothing a hole in the floor couldnt fix haha

I heard these blocks are very prone to cracking around 200,000 miles or so... not sure how true it is or if its just luck of the draw thats what i heard though
