The Nazz Forget About It (Alternative Version) (HQ)
From their 1971 album Nazz III.
I appreciate Galantski's comment.
I was under the impression that this recording most likely reflected an attempt to delete and overdub Todd out of Nazz III before Stewkey & company proceeded to (re?-)release it, seeing as Todd had left the band by then.

The Nazz Forget About It (Alternative Version) (HQ)
From their 1971 album Nazz III.
This wasn't on the original "Nazz III" release ... but maybe it was on the 2006 re-release on Sanctuary Records that includes a bunch of out-takes? Anyway it's clearly got different vocals than the original. A dubbing error at 2:20 sounds to me like a blatant attempt to remove and replace Todd'...

Teenage Head - Picture My Face (Toronto, 1978)
From Colin Brunton's The Last Pogo.
December 1, 1978
Recorded at the Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto.
The film this clip comes from is nicely described in the Wikipedia article on Teenage Head. And I consider myself lucky to find it so easily here!
Punk in 1978 was a whole different animal than it got to be by 1980 when there were hit albums and punk became accepted as a valid type of rock music...

Sounds to me like it's as much influenced by Motown as anything else.
I just read an opinion piece contrasting Jobs genius to Gates intelligence, so I'm prone to think I hear an exceptionally clever effort that's utterly lacking in genius.

Amboy Dukes - Journey To The Center Of The Mind
Amboy Dukes perform Journey To The Center Of The Mind
How come nobody cares if the music sounds absolutely great? I'm lovin' it!
My only complaint is that almost no psychedelic rock hit records can be reproduced in a live performance very well at all, though this one is lip-synched with pretty faithful guitar-fingering so it looks more convincingly...

Generation X-Wild youth
TOTP performance
Great footage! Some ot the other 1977 performances are a little raw and falling-apart (although better for a club show than a TV show like this one), and the later performances are a little too glam/civilized. Here they are, on the eve of the release of their first single and at the peak of the...

I've carried the facts of the Liebeck case with me in my briefcase every day for many years, so as to be able to rebut any false aspersions about a "jackpot" won.

I'm a fan of the registry, and enthusiastic about getting people to join including for religious reasons. The video puts me to sleep within the first 30 seconds, and every bit thereafter is also painfully slow. Who has time for a one-minute message that takes six minutes to sit and watch? My c...

the kinks - celluloid heroes
a video of the british band The Kinks.the song is celluloid heroes which appears in the album Everybody's in Show-Biz, in live.
I think it's remarkable that we get a pianist and horn section onstage, back in the day when they still made 'em dress up nice. Most bands just had to lip-sync their songs to a playback of the record, regardless of whether it looked ridiculous to hear the lead vocalist multi-tracked in harmonies...

Absolutely gorgeous. And his cosmic connection is palpable - even without any video footage (and if anyone knows of any, I'd love to know where to find it!). No wonder Carlos Santana, who was always on that wavelength himself, loved to play the song - and pulled it off so powerfully. It's a gi...

Janis Joplin Live
"Her band" was different every album or two. This one has to be the Kozmic Blues Band, not the one (Big Brother) she recorded the song with in the studio, 'cause it's got the horn section and I doubt Big Brother would ever have put up with that fat sound. Both had Sam Andrew on lead guitar so a...

Gang of Four - Damaged Goods - Live, Atlanta 1980
Gang of Four perform Damaged Goods live in Atlanta, GA in 1980.
I saw them in 1980 in WashDC, where they played in a movie theatre in a rundown section of the city where punks often hung out. I thought they sounded just too weird - even "My Sharona" sounded odd then, and the Psychedelic Furs weren't out yet. But you could dance to it and it was political, a...

What I love most about this ridiculous video is the dancing.
