@sweetheartqt It's just a matter of what looks good with everything about the character. Blonde hair and blue eyes look a lot more delicate and feminine next to someone with dark hair like Derek. It's literally there to make her look more girly. There's no other reason for it.

@FJDAfamily So do I. It most likely is a typo in the sheet music because it's what our copies of the medley have. Every other performance of the title song has the word "do" instead of "so" as well.
