The principle is simple. Each vote must be treated the same and be of equal value. Any candidate that is excluded from the count should be redistributed as if that canidate had not stood. So if you recount t6he QLD senate vote excluding all candidates except the last seven (3 ALP, # Liberal/NO 1 green) Larisa Waters should have been elected. She was denied representation by the way in which we count the vpte.

We should be using Meek or the Wright System where on every exclusion the vote is reset and the count restated. The count continues until all vacancies are elected in a single iteration.

I want to know why in democracy it's how much business funding you have that influences government decision making rather than the voting numbers. It shouldn't be a question of party policy whether it accepts business funding. It's completely wrong and needs to be stopped period. Government isn't about winning and losing elections. It's about leading the country. But I guess our leaders just don't have any balls.
