@Zelse0 the R does stand for rimmed and not russain, the rim is at the bottem of the shell, if u have ever loaded one ud notice how the rim catches in a spot in the action. idk if there is another 7.62x54 round that isnt rimmed, but i do know u do need to have the rimmed for the mosin.
