Update January 2012: Due to your continuing request for tutorials, guides and sheet music, I finally decided to take some time and write down the scores. This is ment as a curtsey for all you listeners out there who'd like to play my version of this song. Thank you all for your support!
The sheet music is far from professional, but probably still better than most of what you can buy in overpriced so-called "songbooks". I give you the sheet music for free so you can save your money for your next Yann Tiersen concert or CD. If you still wish to give something in return, please support the software www.musescore.org which greatly helps me to write down music.

The scores consist of 13 pages and cover my entire 8:28 minutes version of this song. Enjoy!

Coming home from work and thinking of the upcoming Yann Tiersen Concert in Basel on May 1st, I decided its time to record another video. There are a few fumbles, I'm aware of that, but after several tries and not improving I'm giving up for today ;-) Well, here you go... hope you enjoy.

My version of Yann Tiersen's "Mother's Journey" from the "Goodbye Lenin" soundtrack. Slower than the original. This is the 2nd upload after i finally got rid of that problem with the recording noise. Enjoy!
Feel free to comment, I appreciate any opinions/suggestions.

Improvisation on Phil Collins' "Another Day In Paradise" using the same notorious baseline throughout the whole song (almost).
Please comment! Any opinion welcome.

First play the right hand, VERY slow, until you can do it without thinking about it or looking at the notes. (If you can talk to people while playing it, then you got it :D )
Second, do the same with the left hand.
Now you can combine both and it should work pretty well. Mothers Journey is very intuitive here because both hands play 8th notes, so there is no confusion about different rhythms.
After that you can practice and increase tempo to a point where you like it. Do not hesitate to play the piece at whatever tempo you like best. I personally prefer it slower than the CD version, and if I would record it again I would probably play it even a bit slower than now.
When you practice you can play at uncomfortable tempo, but once you record or perform it, make sure that you feel comfortable with the tempo you play it at. If it's too slow or too fast and makes you uncomfortable, all listeners will notice at once.
I finally found the time (well, if 3am sessions qualify as "finding the time") and motivation to write down the whole "Rue des Cascades" scores. You can find the download link in the video description.
Do you have a .mid file available, i am trying to learn it from following your video but having trouble..
