How did you do this conversion and what parts if any do you need besides the blade grips and feathering shaft?

@AviatorAV8R Walkera already has one, the V450D01. Comes in WK2801 and Devo versions.

The Game Gear isn't comparable to the Lynx. The Lynx is a much more powerful system with a faster CPU and hardware scaling and rotation.

Soft start also keeps the motor from stripping your maingear.

@davidmichaelc RC helis will give you an understanding of helicopter flight characteristics though and that can be applied to real helicopters as well.

@AfghanKnight007 You can learn to tail-in hover in a few days on a CP heli if you have some experience with fixed pitch helis but really being able to fly it will take longer.

@CoD6HModthedeisel No they're just having fun with batteries that have already reached the end of their useful life or which were already damaged by dropping or being in a crash. The battery has to be disposed of anyway.

What they don't tell you is that damaged lithium batteries catch on fire and explode. Look up "lipo explosion" there are a ton of videos about this. Large commercial lipos have been restricted to specialty uses like RC cars airplanes and helicopters for this reason. They require careful treatmen...

The Lynx is a much, much more powerful machine than the Game Gear. It was designed by the same guys that designed the original Amiga.

I really like Walkera's helis but I wish they'd improve their quality control on their servos.

@dennysss99 It's normal for helicopters to slide left on takeoff, you just have to learn to apply a little right cyclic as it lifts off. Helis with a 3 axis flybarless system don't do that because the computer will compensate for uncommanded movement.

Walkera's default radio settings are always insanely over sensitive.

You're going to crash it into the TV. This *always* happens eventually when flying helis indoors. Put something over it to protect it if you don't watch scratches.

The helicopter is expected to make a full recovery.

Wish Walkera would release a version of this for their new Devo line of radios.

The other way to check is with a lighter.

Flight of Dragons was adapted from a book called The Dragon and the George. The book was much, much better.

You would have been better off getting a Blade MCX2 (coaxial rotor) or Blade MSR (single rotor like a real helicopter) from a hobby shop. $120 and $150 respectivly. They actually fly (very well) and everything on them is available as a replacement part so the only way to destroy them is to accid...

@RcFanBlog They call it the Devil 7 for a reason. They should have bumped up the price $10 and put a dot matrix B&W screen on it and a UI based on the older Walkera radios.

I found Walkera's recommended pitch curves for normal flight to be very strange and had to changed them to something normal to be able to get the thing under control. Someone at Walkera must have very weird taste in helicopter setup.

Align is the Pear Audio of RC helicopters.

People pay $200 for Pear Audio cables too but that doesn't mean they're actually better than less expensive but still good quality components. People are just paying for the brand.
