Has it been confirmed impossible, or did just no one succeed yet? I hoped it would happen one day.
Adding your stages would be a good start. There are also some new characters fans are working on, which would be a great addition.
One thing that would really be awesome is a coop mode, but unfortunately I've never seen anyone hack that, nor did I succeed in doing so myself.
