About this user

Oscar Casares was born in Braga on the eighth of December of 1977. He was admitted in the General Arts Course in Braga, concluding Art workshop graded with Cum Laude, having as tutor Maria Magalhães.
In 1990 Casares started his career. The Director of Belo-Belo Gallery Maria Fernanda Moreira invited him as official portraitist in 1993, and as disciple, is invited by the painter Luís Pinto Coelho - Madrid.
Oscar was distinguished in the creation of scene clothing, recognized by the painter Pepa Carrilho - Vice-President of the A.T.C. - Madrid.

• Second National Prize of Painting - European Itinerant Exhibition - 1996;
• Exhibition gallery of the Municipal Museum of Vouzela -1997;
• European Painting Award Brussels - 1997;
• Project Relive the Past in the Museum of Saint Martin Monastery Tibães, Braga - 1998;
• Show in order to help the victims of the flooding in Mozambique - 2000 and projects of solidarity to support children at risk until the present;
• A.Y.I.C New York - 2000/2001;
• Project In Memory of Women of the Royal House of Braganza, invited by the European Journeys of Patrimony - 2001
• Executed all the pictorial work - Frei Aleixo Church, Évora - 2001/2002;
• Executed, with respect of the Pope John Paul II, his last official portrait - 2004;
• Panel Salve Regina, Prime Altar of Sameiro´s Sanctuary Crypt, Braga 2005/2006 - recognition by the Pope Benedict XVI - 2007;
• Executed all the paintings - International Centre of the Carmelites Order - Fatima 2007/2008;
• Portrayed Nicole Kidman with the gratitude and admiration of the actress 2008.
