@Malivictus We got the Sherman in 1995 as a wreck from a small arms firing range. It cost about £5000 at the time but such a restoration can cost up to 4 times that. It's coming along slowly but each bit don is another small step to firing that beast up.

@RAFsperminator It's an export only tank developed by BAE systems that uses Chally 1's gunnery systems and drive train but without the laminate armour.

@Astepintooblivion You got to agree this could have very easily been a massive disaster. I agree that the crew for the most part did their job and got people on the boats. But I think we still have to consider that no matter the training or drills, you will always feel panic.

I find it amazing seeing the condition of some of the planes that made it back. It took a lot to down some of those machines. But hell... I can't imagine witnessing first hand 10 men being killed in such a way. It had to be odd seeing the plane go, thinking so many were on board

@Lucicsux Jagdpanthers came in to service I believe in 1944. They seen extensive use through Europe and Russia. There are probably few records remaining to track down information on an individual machine unless this particular one was a dug up relic.
