About Me:
Aunque en el desarroyo de el Berimbau y el Pandero, me considero autodidacta, he tenido maestros como: Eder Da Rosa, Francisco López (Pepe Carioca)y Bira Almeida (Mestre Acordeaõ) BRASIL.
De musica Africana he tomado Clases y talleres con Eduardo Garavito, Guillaume Peuget, Lamine Thiam y Tsekou Djabate.
En lo Caribeño mis maestros son: Carlos Tovar (Popis), Jorge Bautista y Oscar Bolaños.
He participado en distintas agrupaciones Tam´Bore, Sindikato Tamborero (ambos de World Percussion)... entre otras, actualmente estoy activo en los grupos: Konbit de Sylvie Henry (Haitian Jazz Fusión), Kayab (folcklore Caribeño), participaciones con Mitote Jazz, y Sirius Productions (show percusión-STOMP)
Con ellos me he presentado en distintos foros como, La casa del Lago, el Salón 21, Teatro Metropólitan, Teatro de La ciudad, Zócalo Capitalino, Plaza de las Artes del CNA; y festivales como: El Afrocaribeño de Veracrúz 2002, Día int, de la Danza 2002 al 2004, dia internacional de la Percusión CNA 2005, Expro- Sound check 2004, Festival Quimera 2005 Metepéc, Festival internacional de Cuernavaca 2006, El Festival de la cuidad de México 2006, Ollín Kan 2007 y 2008, Festival de el Agave en Casa José Cuervo JAlisco, etc...
Actualmente imparto cursos y talleres privados y me enrolé en la academia dé música Fermatta como profesor de percusiones...

Thanks for your interest on my solo berimbau videos. Ity is important to have the right verga and cabaca to play the blues------a long sustaining note. Second, about the baqueta----I found that wood does not slide very well on the wire. So, I re-invented the baqueta so that I could play bottle neck technique on the berimbau. I went to a store that specialized in selling all types of plastic. The stick that you see me playing in the videos is made of fiber carbon. I hope this information helps you.
