My belief system as an Atheist:

1) I do not believe anything unless I have good reason or evidence to believe it.
2) I do not arrive at any conclusions about a situation until I have fully assessed the situation within the limits of possibility.
3) Assessments of situations are done with reason, logic, and observation.
4) If a better explanation is available for a situation, apply pillars 1-3 to that proposed explanation and if it turns out to be the case that the new explanation is better than the old, then the new one becomes the current explanation.

These four pillars are very reasonable and are the foundations of rational thinking. These four pillars are the basis for science, and thus science and logic are the best ways to find the truth because with these two ways we can gain justified knowledge that has evidence and reason to back it up. This is far better than faith, which is nothing more than blind belief. A scientist KNOWS things while a person of faith only thinks that he/she knows things. That is the difference. Many religious people will often criticize science, yet they know nothing about it. If you are one of these, then I will reveal the grand mystery of science, and you will find that it is nothing special.

Step 1: Find a problem.
Step 2: Make initial observations.
Step 3: Form an Inductive hypothesis.
Step 4: Form an idea of what would falsify or prove your hypothesis false.
Step 5: Plan a logical and unbiased experiment with a control group.
Step 6: Execute the experiment, and repeat it several times.
Step 7: Look at scientific works of other respected and valid sources.
Step 8: Logically analyze your results.
Step 9: Make a deductive conclusion that follows logically from your analysis.
Step 10: See if your conclusion matches your hypothesis, and why it does or doesn't.
Step 11: Compile all data from steps 1-10 and make a final deductive conclusion.

As you can see, the scientific method is nothing special. All you do is think rationally and be intelligent about it.

Why I am against religion:
For the record, I would not legislate religion into illegality. However I will stand up against religion and fight it. Why am I against religion? Because of the harm it does to innocent people and the threat it poses to a free nation. Many theists believe that atheists are out to get their religion and violate their first amendment, in reality we are defending their first amendment and protecting their right to worship and protecting our right from their religion. Contrary to popular myth, America was not founded as a Christian nation, and all of this "under god" and "in god we trust" was not added until after the year 1900. We were a secular nation and still are, and the Constitution of the US states this clearly in article six and the first amendment. Religion does a great deal of harm and deludes people. Innocent children have died because their parents favored faith healing of some non existent god over medical treatment that works. The VT massacre costs us 32 lives thanks to religion, and thanks to gun control laws. The mother of the VT shooter refused to acknowledge that her son was mentally ill and thus instead putting him into a mental institution, she gave him an exorcism and then he went on to murder 32 unarmed citizens. Even worse is we have some jesus freaks like the Westboro Baptist that want to transform America into a Christian version of Iran complete with a Taliban equivalent that will stone to death innocent people who do not follow their religious ideology. Therefore I favor laws that do separate church from state COMPLELTY and laws that force parents to give their children medical help instead of useless faith healings that do not work.

As you read in the above section, I am a defender of the second amendment. Both the first and the second are what separate America from Iran and North Korea. It is the reason why we have liberties. All gun control advocates do is lie and lie and lie to push stricter gun laws. The only thing, besides water, that is more valuable than gold is lead and steel.
