No Master has our unquestioning votes. We have a Plutocracy. And until we start voting for candidates (win or lose) that represent the poor and middle class, the wealthy will run our Country. It's that simple and the solution is easily attainable.
We are willing to compromise, but NOT on core principals. We are Liberals who are mostly 90% idealistic and 10% pragmatist. As to my political views... I am for ANY Government which encourages equality, peace, education, and charity. A Government that has checks and balances to stop corruption and injustice. A Government that has fair civil and criminal courts which provides real resources for defendants. And most of all, a Government which allows free speech. This type of Government is only possible by our involvement and cannot be at the State level.
We have been betrayed by the Democratic Party. They and Republicans serve the same Master... Money. If you vote because of fear or Party loyalty (only), then you have indentured yourself as well.
We walk a path creating islands of hope. We must go individually and spread the message of change. As long as the wealthy control our Government, the middle class and poor have no voice.
Voting because of Fear only keeps opportunists in Power. And a vote for someone who is betraying honour is throwing your vote away. It is better to NOT vote, than to pick the "Lesser of two evils". This is part of passive resistance.
Vote for true Liberal Parties, not nominal ones. The road is hard, but when is it ever easy to do the right thing? Unfortunately it is too easy for those with any authority to abuse their positions and it is up to us to hold them accountable. Complacency, apathy, and fear is what gives abusers their power. We must always be willing to pick up a phone, write a letter, and protest any mistreatment carried out. We need to ACT in the manner we teach our children to behave. Integrity should always be our Foundation Stone.
