Just to answer a couple of questions, I've been playing guitar for about three years now. I bought my first (and only) electric guitar (that awesomely blue Fender HSS Stratocaster) in May of 2005. I practice pretty much every day, several hours a day. Practice is the key to success, people. You're not gonna become a guitar legend overnight. Even after three years of daily practice, I know I've still got a lot to learn.

I learn a lot of what I play by ear. I only really use tabs to get me pointed in the general direction of a song.

I'm self-taught, started out with a 25 year-old nylon string acoustic guitar and a book on basic guitar techniques and went from there.
