About Me:

Hmm... About me. I guess they want me to describe myself. I mean... That's what it says in parenthesis under where it says "About Me".
Man. Thank God for that.
Do they really think that they have to tell us that we should describe ourselves in the About Me section?

Oh... Before we get started, I need you to do something for me. Theres this place over on the other side of the world that no one knows about. It's a little island just south of the equator, but slightly north of it's southern shores. It's a mystical land with hopping rabbit-people and eucalyptus trees.
Although people have been living there for 42,000 years, the natives have never had the opportunity to witness a live performance by the three travelers of Willowdale.
These three travelers have never toured this mystical island. This mystical land we like to call Australia.
It's the place Australians come from.
None of the good people down there have ever seen a live Rush concert. Unless they traveled to another continent to do so.
Please take the time to sign this Rush to Australia petition. Hopefully this will show the band that there are some fans that would love to see them for the first time.

I've been a loyal Rush fan since my older brother turned me on to them after 2112. I was still such a young punk. But I had already been rocking out to Kiss and that guy who sang "Big Bad John".
But anywhat... Yeah. Rush fan. I haven't missed a Rush concert since Grace Under Pressure, and I really can not imagine what things would be like for me if these three hosers would have never met up with each other. Music has grown to be the cornerstone of the person I have become. Without music, I have no idea who I might have been. And without Rush making music interesting to me, there possibly would have been no music at all.
But I'm gonna get off that topic because I'm starting to sound like a little homo.
Okay... Where was I before you so rudely interrupted...
Oh. Right here.

I used to call myself a guitarist. That was back when I loved to play. When I could sit there for hours at a time playing like a madman. Unfortunately, that madman I played like wasn't a very good guitarist.

Long story not quite as long....

Yeah. I'm a Rush head. I'm a Rush head who gets bored easily. So here I am. A bored guy. A bored guy who has some beautiful guitars that never get played anymore. They just sit there. Grabbing up all the dust that comes their way. I guess that's how they pass the time. I had a friend who's grandmother passed the time the same way. I was like, "Dude... She's dead".
That was the first time I ever got to poke someone with a stick.

Oh... If you ever get the chance... Slap a dead person.

Okay. Here I am with these guitars that aren't getting played. When I would play, I couldn't really relax and jam the way I used to. I'd put myself under too much pressure trying to relax. But I had to do something.
That's when I decided to do a couple Rush covers. It seemed to work. It got me off my ass and kept me interested. So I did YYZ and La Villa Strangiato. They were songs that I kinda-sorta half-way knew, so I really didn't have to actually learn stuff.
Then I did the Hemispheres tribute. That's when I learned that I needed to learn stuff to pull that one off. That's the good thing about medleys. Just do the part you know and move on to the next.
Then I started getting hooked on this videography crap.
Enter: 2112. I kinda knew the guitar and I thought the bass wasn't gonna be a big deal. But I was wrong. And it was.
But yeah. All the Rush covers are done right here. I'll program the drums on my out-dated Kawai drum machines and do a bass line to get things started. Then I'll lay down the guitars and keyboards. By this time, I kinda figure out what to do with the bass line and guitar, so I end up re-recording everything.
But Xanadu showed me that I would do what I thought I wouldn't do to do another video. That was a song that I had never tried. By the time I had finished recording, I had forgotten the bass line. So I had to relearn the damn bass line before I could start working on the video. And the video took forever to do.

But typing sucks. So I'm done.

As a Canadian I am proud to say that Rush is from our country, and as a Canadian i would also like to say that if I had 8 thumbs including the other 2 that I have I would give you 10 THUMBS UP!! It is great to see that people can still use real instraments to play real music, we are all artists in our own way, we just have to find a way to express them. I am glad to see that you chose music to express yourself, you are extremely talented so from our igloo's in Canada our touque's off to you EH!!
