Why all these comments about race? What the heck does is matter whether a runner is black or white? Can't we just appreciate great running, wherever the runner is from?

@Frank5133 The Conniff phenomenon is difficult to understand. The man sold millions and millions of records by turning other musicians' music into easy listening. Don't really want to knock the guy or his listeners but Conniff, Last, etc. seem to be nothing more than a celebration of the bland.

I like his explorations of many musical genres, and I reckon he has mastered quite a few too. I do enjoy the crisp and distinctive Knopfler sound. I listen to JJ Cale and hear a lo...

I love Buk, love his productivity but have to say that after a while all his poems sound the same. It's all simple, obvious stuff. He doesn't really do anything new. I guess so many people like him because his poems are so accessible, simple prose chopped up into poetry. T.S. Eliot's "The Waste L...

@livingpiano By the way, the folks making the most offensive remarks are the easy listening fans such as yourself. It seems that when someone questions your taste, rather than argue your case you resort to personal insults.
@toddallen65 You obviously love this music, which one must respect. There are books and movies, which are inoffensive and easy to consume, entertainment if you like. And there is art, the best of which is elitist because it demands that one think, engage, and struggle. Against your Ray Conniff ea...
