Yes, tearing me down without listing any facts is really funny, haha. Emeek's just a damned hypocrite. He was saying how pissed off he was that someone made a video bashing him without any facts and then he does the same to me.
He's just a thief, a liar and a hypocrite. Fuck you for supporting that. You probably pirated a copy of your precious Photoshop. Yeah, that's surely the way to show your love for the application. |

You can use outside sources, but it must be done in Photoshop.

You do realize that there's a Gimp plugin to run Photoshop plugins... right? How is Photoshop more powerful now if I can run its same plugins which you claim make it better?
Also, Gimp 2.6 is only planning on adding RAW image support. CMYK support can be added at any point in time, they just need to buy the licensing to do so (there's an option in preferences for printer drivers and crap, this is what they need for CMYK support; so the option is already there, but they just can't afford the license for CMYK at the moment). And as for history filters/the advanced layering, I haven't heard of them planning on adding this. I hope they do, but it's up to them. |

Extensions my friend. If you want those features I guarantee that an extension for GIMP exists for it (minus the Bridge since there isn't a GIMP suite or anything). The three features I mentioned were actually the most important that prevent GIMP from going mainstream. overall it does what 90-95% of what photo manipulation users need. The other small portion are those that take RAW photos (this will be fixed by version 2.6 as that will add RAW image support), CMYK printing support (should be added soon by the looks of things) and the unique layering panel which not many people take advantage of (oddly enough; oh, and this includes those smart filters you mentioned).
As I said, GIMP isn't perfect, but for all 60% of the Photoshop users who pirate Photoshop, GIMP is more than enough. Probably even 90% of its users from what I'm seeing people use PS for. |

Do you understand what digital post production is? It's video editing. Not photo editing as is the case with Photoshop. And like I said, I have taken courses in Photoshop. So if I ever did get a job with photo editing/manipulation as a need, I could easily mark those down as I do know my way around PS.
Keep in mind though, PS is $600 and has only 3 features GIMP doesn't. Only 3. Is it then worth $600? Well, only if you work in the print or RAW photography business. |
