@JessicaLouiseMusic Yes, she's also under the floor of the chancel area of the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula in the Tower of London. She too has a memorial tile, although it can't be seen generally as it's under the altar table.

@fluffytom82 I've never said that she should be reburied or that there should be a celebration day in her honour. I for one believe that she should not be exhumed, either for our curiosity or to move her somewhere else. The simple tile in St Peter's is part of her story and it's a beautiful chapel.

@Cissy2cute Yes, it's a beautiful tradition. Apparently a bequest left money and instructions for this tradition to be carried out on an annual basis. An investigation by a former director general of the Tower found that it was Boleyn descendants sending them and that it had been going on since ...

@leananshae I think she thought it was best to let sleeping dogs lie. She was already facing enough opposition without drawing attention to the fact that she was still deemed illegitimate and that her mother had been found guilty of treason. I think Elizabeth was sensible in keeping her feelings ...

@ZoeCEubanks I think Henry VIII was to blame, not Anne, I don't think she had much choice in the matter really.

@bluebird7962 I'm saying that the Elizabeth one could well have been used as a model for the Anne one, not that they are exactly the same.

@kendahke Analysis during conservation work has led to the Anne painting being dated to late 16th century, so during the reign of Elizabeth I. I'm not saying that one is ripped off from the other, I'm suggesting that Elizabeth's paintings may have been used as a model for Anne's seeing as images...

@JessicaLouiseMusic The miniature of Katherine Howard is thought to be a contemporary painting but it's not sure whether the one of her wearing a black gown with a high collar is actually Catherine.

@JessicaLouiseMusic That's right. The only contemporary image of Anne is the medal that was made in 1534. An analysis on the NPG portrait of Anne undertaken by the National Portrait Gallery has confirmed that it was painted in the late 16th century, so in Elizabeth I's reign and not when Anne was...

@TheLeaveTaking I think that as the scaffold memorial dates back to Victorian times (there used to be a plaque instead of the glass memorial) and they've gone to the trouble of making the glass memorial that they have to stick to telling people that it's the spot. Whenever I take a group I always...

Most traitors were executed on Tower Hill or Tyburn, but Anne Boleyn, being Queen, and also Catherine Howard, Lady Rochford and Lady Jane Grey were executed within the Tower walls. Catherine's scaffold was on the same spot, and Jane's is described as being near the White Tower too.
It is a shame...

Anne Boleyn's Appearance
Claire Ridgway, creator of The Anne Boleyn Files website, discusses which portrait of Anne Boleyn is the most accurate.
@Cissy2cute I think the bit that looks like hair on the Holbein drawing that Cheke apparently identified as Anne is actually the trim or underpart of her hood/cap.

Elizabeth's household when she was growing up, and also when she became queen, consisted of many Boleyn relatives who would have told her about her mother. I don't believe that she thought Anne was guilty, I just think she thought it best not to draw attention to her illegitimate status and the f...
