Anna Wilson's 2003 debut record, The Long Way (Asylum/Curb), introduced an entirely distinctive and important voice rooted in the singer/songwriter tradition. With superbly crafted songs and a uniquely soulful voice, Anna quickly won critical favor. Her first single, "The Bus Ride" was included in the soundtrack of the Miramax film View From The Top, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Christina Applegate and on the benefit compilation CD Fearless Hearts: Songs of Love and Light, featuring diverse artists such as Kenny Loggins, Bonnie Raitt and Rodney Crowell.

The Long Way received radio airplay, and Wilson toured in support of her record. She played a number of independent dates, opened for Boz Scaggs on his But Beautiful Tour and on The Songwriter's Tour headlined by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin and Dar Williams. Sharing the stage with these fellow writer-artists whose music blends genres and styles; she defined herself as a musician/performer and challenged herself to further engage this new-found audience by developing even more sophisticated material.

Born and raised in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, not far from Philadelphia, Anna Wilson was exposed to music from a young age by her mother, a talented pianist with affection for show tunes and the fluid melodies of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and George Gershwin among others. In developing songs for her sophomore effort, Wilson combined the nostalgic sounds of her mother's music with her contemporary pop sensibilities and jazz influenced vocals to form a unique and mature composite style. "I want to take the best parts of my diverse musical influences and create an intelligent, flirtatious and utterly original product," says Wilson.

The artist's soon-to-be-released sophomore effort, Time Changes Everything, brings a contemporary voice and message to a timeless jazz project. The album's 13 original songs showcase her dexterity as both a singer and songwriter. Pulling from diverse influences, ranging from Cole Porter to Laura Nyro, Anna's unique composition and vocal style illustrate her love of standards, while remaining true to her Gen X experience. Collaborating with veteran composers Monty Powell, Jeff Franzel and Scarlet Keys, Anna Wilson's Time Changes Everything delivers a sonically masterful collection of modern day life and love lessons juxtaposed by the neo-nostalgic sounds of a traditional jazz combo.
