Ange Takats is an Australian folk singer and author who grew up on a diet of Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Nina Simone and Neil Young. She began her music career in Bangkok, where she was based as a journalist for two years. She released her debut album Aniseed Tea in 2009 and a memoir called The Buffalo Funeral in 2011, which traces her unusual journey from foreign correspondent to folk singer.
