Cats arent usually scared of water they just dont like water and the fact of being wet.

Some cats love to get wet and swim.

And yes ive had many cats and i have 3 cats now, 2 grow ups and a kitten.

Several Republic squads all over the planet was fighting on key points, also that they were a small army yes but they had backup from another unit as you saw when the jedi whent into the fight :D. Gotta say tho the Republic troopers got balls.
