I like all Ancient EgyptDesperate plea for help!
We had understood that our last Employment Insurance cheque was to be on Dec.1. So when we got our cheques on Nov.14- we spent them on food and winter clothes for Sheya, thinking that we had two more cheques coming for rent for December.
We just got a notice in the mail a few days ago saying that the 14 was our last cheque. When we called to see why, we got some long story sec.1tating that 52 weeks was the maximum amount allowed on the claim- which would have lead us to
Dec.1, but because of the employment rate in the area at the time of our claim multiplied by yada yada...we were only given 47, and basically we're screwed. Our landlord's wife is pregnant and he wants his rent- all $700- on Monday, we don't have it. I have tried for days to get through to a welfare intake worker to set up an appointment- we can
only do it by phone here- only to spend hours on hold until the office closed. The one time I did get through to a human, he told me to call back because he was busy- when I did I was on hold again til the office closed. If we don't have the rent by Monday, we could get evicted, and Sheya will be placed in foster care. BullsEye and I will need a cardboard box, coleman stove,
and a plot of land to place it on. I know times are tough for everyone, and I wouldn't ask if we weren't desperate and terrified. But if anyone has a dollar- just a dollar to spare, we would appreciate it. Every bit helps- and if we can come up with a portion of the rent until I can get an appointment with welfare, maybe our landlord will be willing to wait for the rest.
My pay pal account is set up through sharetra@hotmail.com, pay pal will give you instructions on how to go about it.
If you can help, please consider it. Just a dollar, I know things are tough on everyone, especially with Christmas being this close and I don't want to put anyone out. Thanks for your time and consideration. When we called to see why, we got some long story stating that 52 weeks was the maximum amount allowed on the claim- which would have lead us to
