I had better luck before the free trial by going one person at a time and seeing who his father was. I got back to the 1500s without paying a dime. They offer help but there wasnt too many people who traced my family. Most of the information I found out on the trial period was what I had written in in the free version. They are very helpful though and it is worth the money you pay for the service. I ended up with some free pics of census' and a picture of my great grandfather that I wouldnt get for free. So I am thankful.

Helpful tip :
if you have OLD! family pictures.. write down who they are on the back of the picture, with date of birth, place, date of marriage etc, and also ask your family elders who they are. When those who know more family history have passed on... that information is GONE for good.
even better.... make a video of an elderly family member and have them discuss what they know.

have a great week all

My grandfather George Arthur Sanft was born Nov 13 1897, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He married my grandmother Ellen Caroline Madsen on Oct 2, 1926. Five years later they divorced and that's where I lost track of him. There is no sign of him on any census, no social security death index, nothing. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
