I have never seen them live. I wanted to go to this show, but was away on that date. Too bad you can seriously hear the compression/limiter working during the recording every time the drummer hits the bass drum.

The Collings is much more open in the upper midrange. The Mainland sounds fine. It's that bit of clarity and openness in the lower high-end/upper midrange which really sets them apart. It's what I find is what you get when you spend into the thousand dollar range vs. the mid-three figure or lo...
