Nican Tlaca is our Indigenous race as a people of Cemanahuac. The Nican Tlaca term is not meant to negate the equivalent in any of our other languages, cultures & history. We encourage all of our people to use the equivalent in whichever of our languages they may want to use it. Also, in the 1500's, Nican Tlaca was a term used by our people to unify all indigenous people from the Europeans, showing that we acknowledge our commonality.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Let us start with one basic fact. Anahuac (AH-NAH-WAK) the land between the waters in our Nahuatl language what today we know as Mexico, Central "America" & the western "U.S.", was one of the ONLY three civilizations in the world that had their independent origins & development. Anahuac was the civilization of corn. Sumeria was the middle eastern civilization of wheat, & the Chinese were the civilization of rice. There were no other completely original civilizations in human history. Every other civilizations & cultures are branches of these root civilizations. We were the first people in the history of humanity to have mandatory education for males & females of all classes. We had developed universities that in many ways superior to those of Europe. We had libraries in all of our cities & major towns. Our written literature was extensive. We had the worlds most accurate calendar & the greatest scientific cosmology-theology in the history of the world. We were the first people to develop the mathematical concept of zero & positional values. We created our own world of brilliant & genius. We created one of the greatest civilizations in the world. Our people had the necessary proven intelligence, motivation, creativity & the national resources of our land to have made us the greatest & wealthiest of all nations. But this greatness & wealth was stolen from us by Europeans.

The Bering Strait theroy suggests that "American Indians" came to North & South "America" from Asia from a land-Ice bridge that once existed between Alaska & Russia 12,000 - 60,000 years ago. Three Irons says the theroy which is commonly taught in history classes, runs counter to "American Indian" origin stories. Our stories and our histories are just as valid as anyone elses, yet they're referred to as myths & legends not as history and that has a negative effect on "Native American" students as far as self-esteem is concerned. The Bering strait theroy is more of a political view then a scientific view. It's a part of western mentality & the westward expansion in taking Indigenous resources, & away to justify that is by saying, if you're not really from here, then you're not entitled to resources either-taking back our history: Valerian Three Irons. The Mexica Movement does not support the Mecha organization. Mexica Movement views Mecha as being intellectually weak, unable to mount confrontations, and too concerned with "mestizo" identity which the Mexica Movement views as a false, Eurocentric concept. Unlike nationalists of the Chicano Movement, Mexica Movement does not advocate Aztlan as a homeland for Mexicans & Mexican "Americans". Mexica Movement states that the concept of Aztlan of it is error-filled in that it relies on Eurocentric notions of borders. Mexica Movement considers Aztlan movement to be too limited in scope.

Instead, the Mexica Movement wants the entire North "American" continent, Anahuac, belonging collectively to indigenous people. Mexica Movement insists that the real Aztlan is actually located in the area of the Great Lakes region, & refers to the Mississippian Moundbuilder civilization, a northern parallel of the Mexican pyramid civilizations. Moundbuilder cities like Cahokia and Mound City more accurately reflect the descriptions that the Mexica attributed to their migratory lands of Aztlan.
