About this user

Bjorn Duphot came from very humble beginnings. He was born in a Philadelphia hospital to Djuana Yvette Cross and Larry Cornell Payton. The product of a less than ordinary childhood, Duphot was raised by his aunt and grandmother. He learned early, the benefits of having a creative mind to occupy his time. Duphot began singing to himself to soothe himself at about the age of five. "Singing brought me comfort," Duphot said. It wasn't until after high school and two years of college, that Duphot decided to embark on a voyage to find himself. That voyage took him many places, including England and France.

Growing up, not very many people knew Duphot could sing, so he was not encouraged to do so. For many years he practiced his talent secretly, singing many times to an audience of one or two people. It wasn't until after France, that Duphot got the idea of taking his singing more seriously. He began writing music he himself wanted to hear and sing. He also retained a vocal coach and began taking a few lessons.

Attempting to build his confidence, Duphot joined the online community known as Youtube (screen name: Amormuse), and began posting videos of himself singing. Gradually overtime, his videos collectively reached over a million viewers and Duphot decided that it was time to take himself more seriously. Duphot then formed a small indie record label (Duphot Records, LLC.), where he creates, writes, and produces music of his interest. Euro-Pop, Euro-Dance, and Euro-House music, are all forms of music that excite Duphot whole heartedly.

Duphot Records LLC. Is a small indie label, that often times leaves Duphot to do everything himself. A perfectionist at heart, he thoroughly enjoys this, because it gives him room to learn. He believes in networking, communicating, and collaborating with other equally talented individuals. Duphot's motto and words to live by, are words borrowed from the counsel of his grandmother. "Nothing beats a failure but a try."
